Information is the Key

Some coverage options coordinate with original Medicare and some don't. If your loved one currently has other health insurance coverage, find out what type of coverage it is and who offers it. Make sure to document the following information, which can be located on the beneficiary’s Medicare ID card:

• Medicare Claim Number
• Hospital (Part A) Effective Date
• Medical (Part B) Effective Date
