For me, KelseyCare Advantage is all about taking care of our members. When they call us with a concern or a question, I want them to know how much they matter to us. Everyone on our team knows that the goal is providing absolutely the best service possible.
As vice president of operations since 2007, I love being in a position to really see how our work can impact the lives of our clients. I oversee several areas, including member services, benefits, enrollment and appeals and grievances, so I can see firsthand what our members need. We pay a lot of attention to keeping the staff trained and educated so they can handle whatever problem a KelseyCare Advantage member might have. When we're able to help someone make an appointment or better understand a complicated benefit issue or pick out a doctor, we're doing what we do best.
And our members really appreciate that extra effort. They often stop by our offices to say hello or to thank us for helping them with a problem. In fact, we once had a member bring us a homemade apple pie!
I was born in Philadelphia, but I've been living in Texas since 1996 and working for the Kelsey-Seybold system since 1997, when I got my first position as a contract administrator. I’ve grown right along with Kelsey-Seybold and I believe one of the strengths of KelseyCare Advantage is that we serve our own community. We can tell a member if a doctor is conveniently located for them or where they can easily pick up a prescription. And we have the flexibility to do the right thing without any interference from some corporate office three states away.
As a wife and a mother, I juggle a lot of different tasks but I absolutely love coming to work and knowing that we all have the same philosophy. We think of our members as family and we treat them that way. Most importantly, we’re passionate about what we do.
