My plan after graduating from Texas A&M University in 1990 was to work at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic to earn some money before going on to law school.
Nearly two decades later, I'm still with the Kelsey family as president of KelseyCare Advantage and I couldn't be happier leading such a dynamic and caring group of people. I come to work every day feeling lucky to have found a home with such a wonderful company.
Customer service is our highest priority, and I see something special in the way the entire KelseyCare Advantage team works with our members. We call it concierge service and it means going the extra mile to help our members and ensure that they have a good experience with their health plan.
And because we're a local company, we have a very unique perspective on the needs of our members. We believe it's just easier for our members to talk to someone who lives in the same community as they do. Our local presence really sets us apart from other health plans.
Like so many of our senior staff, I’ve grown up with Kelsey-Seybold – first working in and managing different clinics, then as vice president of contracting and managed care for Kelsey-Seybold Clinic and, ultimately in 2006, leading the team that put together KelseyCare Advantage. So, old-fashioned service has been our goal from the beginning.
At the most basic level, I see our mission as providing affordable, high-quality healthcare benefits for our Houston-area seniors. We all take that mission very seriously. And I believe we are succeeding.
