KelseyCare Advantage Once Again Earns Highest-Quality Plan Recognition of 5 Stars by Medicare for 2023
KelseyCare Advantage is one of 57 Medicare Advantage plans in the nation to have achieved a 5-star rating by Medicare for seven consecutive years or more.
HOUSTON (Oct. 11, 2022) – The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has again rated KelseyCare Advantage as one of the nation’s highest-quality Medicare Advantage plans. For the seventh consecutive year, KelseyCare Advantage has achieved an overall rating of 5-out-of-5 stars as part of CMS’ annual assessment of 507 eligible Medicare Advantage plans measured across the nation.
KelseyCare Advantage is one of only 57 Medicare Advantage plans in the United States with the distinction of achieving the CMS 5-star rating for at least seven years in a row. In addition, KelseyCare Advantage is the only plan in the state of Texas to earn “5 stars for seven consecutive years.” Of all eligible plans across the United States, only 11 percent rated by CMS were rated as 5-star plans for 2023.
"Maintaining a 5-star rating for seven years demonstrates our commitment to invest in new ways to improve on the high-quality care our members receive when they select a KelseyCare Advantage plan," said Denise Jonathan, vice president of Health Plan Services, KelseyCare Advantage. "Our members see this evolution of constant improvement as another reason to choose a KelseyCare Advantage plan, year-after-year."
Superior Quality and Member Satisfaction Earn 5-Star Ratings
“Each and every day, we strive to provide exceptional member experience and high-quality care to keep our members happy and healthy. Earning a 5-star rating simply for holding ourselves to this higher standard is incredibly rewarding,” said Paul O’Leary, M.D., M.S., medical director, KelseyCare Advantage.
Each year, CMS evaluates Medicare Advantage plans based on member satisfaction surveys, health outcomes, and quality of the healthcare provided to give overall performance ratings to Medicare Advantage health and prescription drug plans. These ratings help Medicare beneficiaries choose a plan based on quality and performance. A plan can earn from one to five stars. A 5-star rating is considered excellent.
“By ensuring members receive consistently high-quality, coordinated care, we’re also ensuring that KelseyCare Advantage offers a unique and superior member experience. This is made possible by directly connecting our Medicare plan with Kelsey-Seybold Clinic’s Accountable Care Organization and medical group to deliver convenience, access, and excellence in care,” said Tony Lin, M.D., chairman and CEO, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic.
